In Quran 44:54 it is written that for each Muslim man entering heaven "We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes." Now just how many houris will each Muslim men get? The Quran does not provide an answer, but among the hadiths, 72 houri-wives for the Muslim men seems to be the most quoted number. (see https://www.scribd.com/doc/4853738/How-Many-Hoors-Hoor-al-ayn-Houris-Will-Be-Given-to-a-Muslim-Man-in-Jannah-Paradise ).
An example is this hadith: Tirmidhi:Hadis number 1067; Narrated Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib:Allah's Messenger (peace beupon him) said, "The martyr receives six good things from Allah: he is forgiven at the first shedding of his blood; he is shown his abode in Paradise; he is preserved from the punishment in the grave; he is kept safe from the greatest terror; he has placed on his head the crown of honour,a ruby of which is better than the world and what it contains; he is married to 72 wives of the maidens with large dark eyes; and is made intercessor for seventy of his relatives." (Allah knows how to reward those who died fighting for Allah!).
Debate Question 1: Suppose a Muslim man was content with the wives he married while alive on earth and that he and these wives all made it to heaven. Would this Muslim man be in a position to boldly say to Allah: "Allah, I do not intend to marry the houris you stated you will marry me to!"? Does Allah himself approve of forced marriages?
Debate Question 2: Suppose again that a Muslim man and his wives after they die all wind up in Islamic heaven. Would these Muslim women have to wait in line with a bunch of houris (as many as 72) for access to their husband?
