Muhammad and Camel Urine (Part 2). Even the Saudis in charge of health are now doubting Muhammad...

Muhammad famously prescribed camel urine as a medicine (see post below). Yet according to Anees Sindi, deputy chief of the Command and Control Center within the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health, “The available evidence indicates that camels transmit Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) to humans, who then infect each other through direct contact with droplets that contain the virus.”  The World Health Organization reports that "Approximately 36% of reported patients with MERS-CoV have died," and that "camels are likely to be a major reservoir host for MERS-CoV and an animal source of infection in humans."

Our Debate Question:  "Was Muhammad aware of any significant risks in drinking the urine of the camel?"

Muhammad did not know of anyone who became ill from drinking camel urine, so he prematurely concluded that illness would never arise from such drinking. We now know differently.
