Examining controversial aspects of Islam, Muhammad, Allah, Muslims

Muslims assert that instructions from the god of the universe for humans to follow are found in the Quran -- the revelations to Muhammad.  But if you were god of the universe, would you give your instructions to a single man living 1,400 years ago?

Or would you instead as god of the universe tell each person alive what your instructions are?  What do you believe is more logical -- to give all your instructions to a single man living 1,400 years ago and tell him to inform others of your instructions, or to directly inform people today about the commands you want them to obey?  There are more than five billion people alive today who are not following such Islamic directives as praying toward Mecca five times each day and chopping off the hands of thieves -- if you as god of the universe truly wanted these commands to be undertaken, would it not make sense that you would tell people directly that they should obey these commands?

A good argument that "Allah" does not directly tell people his commands is that he truly wants to torture people later by sending them to hell. A better argument is that Muhammad wanted to be a special person -- a unique "prophet."
