Although Muslims are free to believe that other species evolved over time, Islam dictates that one species, homo sapiens, was created directly by Allah using his two hands. Yet can this belief be reconciled with the fossil record showing the existence of homo erectus, and the recent finding of the likely missing link?
Evolution posits that life originally began from nonliving organic material and water, and that species change over time. A major implication of this is that the first humans had nonhuman parents. (see video below):

Science (& evolution) declare that the first humans had non-human parents. This view cannot be reconciled with an assertion that the first human was created directly by a god.
