"Surely in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent exemplar" (Quran 33:21). Muhammad was about 50 years old when he married Aisha, age 6. The three husbands pictured below definitely follow Muhammad's "exemplary" example:

The smiling girl on the left, Roshan Qasem, age 11 with a fiance five times her age, before joining his household as his 2nd wife; the girl in the middle, Ghulan Haider, also 11, had to quit school upon engagement to the 40-year old man; six months of marriage did not bring a smile to 13-year old Majabin Mohammed (on right), sitting with her 45-year old husband.

Did these girls know fully what marriage is about before their engagements and weddings? Did Aisha know as a six-year old girl? Had these girls long loved their future spouses before the wedding, or instead, at the wedding, "her silence is her consent," as the Muslims say?
What do we suppose the future holds for Roshan, Ghulan, and Majabin?
With regards to Ghulan, she had wanted to become a teacher before her engagement somehow meant having to leave school.  Can we remain optimistic that she will become a teacher one day?
