Consider the morality of inflicting intense pain on a creature. The Allah of Islam has no problem in doing so. Despite being called “compassionate and merciful” (Quran 1:1), for any humans refusing to believe Muhammad Allah intends to forever burn so badly that their skins fall off and have to constantly be replaced. (Quran 4:56).
With regards to animals, Allah accepted the animal sacrifice of Abel (a goat was killed and later burnt by Allah), but not the plant sacrifice of Cain (Quran 5:27 & Ibn Abbas). Allah chose not to condemn the killing of the goat, but instead “accepted” this sacrifice.
Animal sacrifice is practiced today by Muslims in their yearly Eid al-Adha (“Festival of the Sacrifice"). Without even being first stunned, cows, camels, sheep, rams, and goats wind up getting their throats slashed. Would we ourselves be in intense pain if our own throats were slashed?
Before watching the videos below, we can recall the words of Gandhi: ““The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated,” and the words of Thomas Paine “Belief in a cruel god makes a cruel man.”
